SOS Connect is the instrument for change and improved efficiency at Windeatts

SOS logoWindeatts Solicitors of South Devon is standardising on SOS Connect from Bath-based Solicitors Own Software to improve business practices and efficiency, customer service and competitiveness. SOS Connect will replace the firm’s AIM system in Totnes and Peapod system in Kingsbridge in a major re-structuring and modernisation of the law firm’s IT.

Windeatts was established in 1832 and remains one of the leading firms of solicitors in South Devon offering a wide range of legal services to private and business clients.

Partner Chris Kendall, said: With two offices and 32 members of staff, it was vital that we updated our IT systems to manage our ongoing workload and future growth. As well as operating from two sites, our clients are based all over the UK so it was important that we had in place a system that would help us to meet their requirements most effectively. Less time will be spent on repetitive tasks because the practice and case management aspects of the business will be fully integrated.”

Windeatts evaluated several software suppliers including Eclipse, Iris, Peapod and Alpha Law, but chose SOS Connect because of its flexibility and ability to tailor the system to exact requirements. Several local firms, who also use SOS Connect, provided excellent references. Another key advantage was the subscription payment model offered by SOS, which has enabled the law firm to reap the benefit of the software without a large upfront capital outlay.

Chris Kendall and Practice Manager Andrew Baumback have attended the SOS scripting course, and they are now tailoring workflows, templates and business processes which will become uniform across the firm. SOS is converting the data from the existing two systems and SOS Connect will start to roll out to all staff in July 2009.
