Canon U.S.A. Demonstrates Advanced Workflow Solutions And New Worldox Integration At LegalTech

Supporting the management of documents and data for legal professionals, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, will showcase a variety of workflow productivity and efficiency solutions at LegalTech 2014, from February 4 - 6, held in New York, N.Y.

The Canon solutions are targeted to help law firms of all sizes process their work effectively and efficiently in today's ever-changing technology environment.

At the show, Canon will unveil its new Worldox integrated solutions. These offerings help to simplify scan and document management business processes by integrating Canon technology directly with Worldox. The solutions allow users access to their defined and designed Worldox workflows directly from an imageRUNNER ADVANCE device operator panel or through imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop. Attendees who visit the Canon booth (#2221) will experience a hands-on demonstration of these new Canon solutions along with the Company's award-winning technology in the areas of workflow management, cost reduction and security.

Streamlined Document Management and Case Preparation

Canon's Scan to Worldox solution*, is a serverless, embedded MEAP application that was designed in collaboration with World Software Corporation and Worldox users, specifically for Worldox customers. It provides legal professionals an easy way to scan hard copy documents into their Worldox document repositories indexes directly from a Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE MFP with minimal interaction. Canon's exclusive MEAP application platform allows software applications to reside on, and provide personalized applications to end users through, enabled Canon imageRUNNER and imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices.

For a user-friendly experience, Scan to Worldox was engineered to mirror the Worldox desktop, so users would not notice any significant deviation from the Worldox design. Users can conveniently scan documents directly into their matters folders using familiar Worldox Favorite Matters, Quick Profiles, Workspaces and Bookmarks, enabling a streamlined workflow for scanning and archiving documents based on the firm's and users' preferences. For enhanced productivity and increasing the relevancy of archived documents, all new Follow Me FavoritesTM active profiling technology enables key metadata information to be prepopulated on the MFP touchscreen.

Also new to the Canon solutions lineup is the imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop with Worldox Integration*. The Worldox integration with imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop provides law firms with a powerful software application that is designed to effortlessly save files directly from imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop into Worldox with the simple touch of a button or through the familiar File > Save As functions. Law firm personnel can simply select File > Save As or select the Worldox button on the toolbar to save documents that were imported, edited and/or annotated within imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop and the content is saved in the appropriate matter folder. The imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop integration also provides customers with additional archival options for documents and provides an easy way to print edited and original files that have been saved to their Worldox profile groups.

Input and Output Management Solutions including Convenient and Secure Mobile and Cloud Access

In addition to the Worldox integration, through Canon's imageRUNNER ADVANCE platform, legal professionals have the ability to enhance their workflows by leveraging a number of Canon solutions that interact with cloud-based applications such as Google Drive.

For firms looking for enhanced control over device usage and printed output, Canon offers its uniFLOW Output Manager solution. This solution is designed to save law firms time and money by providing effective controls over its entire printer and MFP fleet. For added tracking, Canon's uniFLOW Mobile Printing solution integrates mobile device usage into a firm's overall output management solution. These solutions help firms enact tighter control over who has rights to output to a device, improve document security by requiring user authentication to scan and print and help manage total costs of devices by providing detail usage.

For legal firms looking to enhance their scanning capabilities, Canon will be showcasing select imageFORMULA document scanners, ideal for providing security and high-quality scanning to legal workflows. With user-friendly design and functionality, Canon's scanning devices being showcased at LegalTech 2014 include the imageFORMULA P-215 "Scan-tini" mobile document scanner, boasting a sleek, lightweight design, so lawyers can conveniently capture information at any point in the workflow. In addition, when connected to Canon's optional WU10 Wireless Adapter & Battery Pack1, the imageFORMULA P-215 scanner will work wirelessly in Windows® and Mac® environments, and can send files to compatible smartphones and tablets through the free Canon CaptureOnTouch Mobile application (available free of charge from the App Store and the Google PlayTM Store).
