Exen logoExen Legal Solutions announce another successful implementation of SmartEye Management Information for leading South West law firm Stephens Scown LLP. Following the adoption of their new practice and case management system, Stephens Scown was looking to take the next step to improve firm-wide fee earner performance monitoring and reporting.

According to Robert Camp, Managing Partner: "Whilst our PMS was efficient and user friendly for processing our day to day work, we needed to up our game in terms of reporting, in order to gain fee earner buy-in for what we are trying to achieve as a business."

When they were first shown the SmartEye fee earner dashboard solution, Robert and his colleagues were immediately impressed by the clear intuitive displays. "The system was so simple. We just wanted to measure fee earner performance and that's exactly what SmartEye did", says Robert.

Implementation of the solution was very much based on a collaborative approach. "At the outset it was all new to us. We didn't know exactly what we wanted, but the Exen team were very responsive and accommodating; they worked closely with us implementing changes and customisations until we got what we wanted".

For Director of IT Dean Mostert a smooth implementation project was equally important. "Whilst there were naturally challenges along the way, these were dealt with by Exen and there was no significant impact on our IT team. We have not had to allocate internal resource to building or amending reports or dashboards as this was all part of the solution. In addition, the training provided was brilliant and so our users took to SmartEye very quickly." Dean has also been impressed with the operation since go live. "The software has been very stable and whenever we have questions, the Exen support team are responsive and helpful."

Since going live, fee earner take up has been very high and feedback to management extremely positive. With just a few clicks, team leaders are now able to see all relevant information about performance of their team and team members. As a result, Stephens Scown is now looking to roll out the dashboards to support staff as well. The firm is also planning the next phase of development with Exen, which will extend the solution to include financial and cash flow information.

Graham Moore, Managing Director of Exen, concludes: "Stephens Scown has been another great example of a law firm frustrated by the inability to quickly and easily access good management information, who we have been able to help with the SmartEye solution. We look forward to working in partnership with Robert and his team over the coming years to ensure that they continue to have fast and simple access to the information they need to run the business."
