Travers Smith Selects NetDocuments' Cloud Platform
Global News

NetDocs logoNetDocuments, the leading secure cloud-based document, email, and collaboration management platform for law firms and corporate legal and compliance departments, backed by Clearlake Capital Group, L.P. today announced that International law firm Travers Smith LLP has selected NetDocuments.

When Travers Smith's existing document management system was becoming end of life, the firm engaged 3Kites Consultancy to provide an independent analysis of the DM market and help with the selection process. The firm also formed a working group comprising Partners, Associates and members of Business Services to look for an innovative, cloud-based approach to document and email management.

“We are seeing more firms getting hit with data breaches than ever before,” says Ann Cant, IT Director at Travers Smith. “We also have to be mindful of compliance and the large fines imposed for non-compliance. No firm wants a compliance or data breach that could have been avoided.”

NetDocuments offers security by design and by default. Built on a world-class security architecture, NetDocuments delivers security-as-a-service, ensuring both firm and client data is safe from internal and external threats. “We wanted a cloud-based DMS that was able to secure our documents better than we could ourselves. That’s why we chose NetDocuments,” said David Cassidy, Travers Smith's Head of IT.

Data stored within NetDocuments is more secure than within most law firms and all documents and communications are encrypted with advanced encryption key management. NetDocuments meets ISO 27018, an extension of ISO 27001, standards and HIPAA requirements for privacy, security, and file sharing so firms can share anything securely with employees and clients.

“The last thing a firm wants is to be faced with an outage while they deal with a data breach,” says Matt Duncan, CEO, NetDocuments. “You can rely on NetDocuments for business continuity, whether you are facing a building evacuation or a cyber-attack.”

In addition to security, availability, and mobility were two further key drivers for Travers Smith during the evaluation and selection of NetDocuments.  DMS support is essential for the agile working scheme recently introduced at the firm.

"Keeping the lights on 24/7 is something Travers Smith cares a lot about,” said Ann Cant. “Our teams must have access to their documents, emails, and files anytime, any place and from any device, without putting the firm at risk.”

The training and implementation project for Travers Smith is supported by Tikit, a certified NetDocuments partner. Simon Hill, CEO at Tikit commented, “We’re delighted to be working with prestigious firms such as Travers Smith who are embracing modern technology and benefitting from the security, performance, and usability of NetDocuments’ cloud platform. We’re confident our team of experts will lead a successful and smooth migration to NetDocuments, ensuring the highest levels of usability and firm-wide adoption possible.”
