QDiscovery’s Helen Geib to Present for the Minneapolis Chapter of Women in eDiscovery
USA/Canada News

Qdiscovery logoQDiscovery LLC, a premier provider of electronic discovery and forensic technology services, today announced that Helen Geib, its general counsel, will be the featured presenter for the Minneapolis chapter of Women in eDiscovery on June 11.

Geib will give a talk titled “Rediscovering the Value of Early Case Assessment (ECA) and Early Data Assessment (EDA).” During the presentation, she will share strategies and best practices for learning about a case and the client’s ESI at the outset of a matter. She will also review how to leverage that knowledge to make informed decisions that improve eDiscovery defensibility and cut costs.

“The terms ECA and EDA mean different things to different people,” commented Geib. “Because there is industry confusion over their meaning and purpose, the perceived value of both ECA and EDA has become diminished. When used properly, though, they aid in developing a winning litigation strategy and improved discovery plan.”

Geib’s presentation will explore:

  • The competing definitions of ECA and EDA and how the two terms relate to each other
  • How both concepts are valuable to illuminate a case early on and develop a litigation strategy that addresses budgeting and other cost issues
  • Practical perspectives on how to conduct an early case assessment and an early data assessment
