e-know.net partners up with Carbon Law Partners
UK News

e-know.net logoManaged services provider and legal sector specialist e-know.net has announced the signing of Carbon Law Partners. e-know.net is set to deliver its managed desktop solution, along with LexisNexis’s LexisOne PMS, to underpin the start-up’s unique iteration of a dispersed operating model.

As part of the co-sourcing contract, e-know.net will also be providing a dedicated support desk and a range of optional IT services that partners are being given access to as part of Carbon’s ‘Concierge’ initiative.

Carbon Law wanted to ensure that its lawyers were fully empowered through highly available, secure and agile best-in-class IT systems, as chief executive Michael Burne explains:

“Carbon is for ambitious, client-focused lawyers who want choice, control and freedom. It is for those who want the flexibility of running their own firm, but with the back-up and support of systems used by a top 50 firm wherever they are based. And it’s important for us that it all works seamlessly, that it is not something obviously piped in and therefore outside of the organisation, but rather very much an integral part of it - we want our people to feel part of a connected, cohesive business. e-know.net is now effectively within that business, managing and supporting Carbon’s core IT provision end-to-end as well as enabling our lawyers to ‘top up’ on enabling technology of their choice, such as smartphones, tablets, and video conferencing.”

Nigel Redwood, e-know.net’s CEO, believes that the contract is an excellent example of the true potential of managed service solutions. “Managed services have long been viewed as one-size-fits-all offerings, often too rigid and restrictive for those who want to innovate and with little supplier desire to engineer bespoke solutions. With Carbon and e-know.net, you’re seeing the sort of flexibility and agility and bespoke working that mirrors the best in-house teams but with all the given benefits of the hosted model. Hosting is no longer just about delivering a set service for a set fee regardless, it’s about properly aligning and shaping your offerings to meet customers’ needs.”
