Software Advice, a company that helps buyers find the right legal software, just published a new research report discussing key functionality of legal practice management systems, the benefits and challenges users experience and firms’ investment plans for incorporating these solutions into their workflows.
"We wanted to provide the legal market a better understanding of what software features are used most often and the potential impact these systems can have on a practice,” says Eileen O’Loughlin, legal market researcher at Software Advice. “We conducted an online survey of current legal software users to investigate these market trends and learn more about what drives firms to adopt practice management solutions.”
This new research reflects that legal software is used most often to automate daily tasks (such as calendar/schedule tracking and recording billable time) and users report a positive impact on case-file organization and even an increase in their billable hours.
“The legal industry is changing, and we wanted to understand how legal software can better enable firms to compete," comments O’Loughlin. “Implementing a solution that streamlines collaboration efforts, improves organization and automates daily tasks can help firms boost efficiency and increase profitability, which is paramount to legal professionals.”
