Law Firm Kelley Drye Selects NetDocuments
USA/Canada News

NetDocuments logoNetDocuments, the leading Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) document and email management (DMS) provider for law firms and corporate legal departments, announced today that Kelley Drye & Warren LLP will replace its on-premises DMS with NetDocuments for improved security, usability, and mobility across the firm’s seven offices comprising more than 300 attorneys and 250 staff members.

Kelley Drye conducted an extensive year-long review of the different document management solutions available. The evaluation and due diligence included input from dozens of customers of different DMS products, detailed demos and working sessions with practice groups, and a comprehensive proof of concept that validated the firm’s decision to move to NetDocuments as the modern, future-oriented DMS platform. The proof of concept allowed Kelley Drye to test things like the speed of working with large files in a cloud-based system, and after some optimization, the firm found that NetDocuments was actually faster than the on-premises solution when it came to working with and downloading large files.

“We wanted a modern and trusted cloud platform that could take our firm into the future, rather than just another DMS which would be a lateral technology move,” said Matt Luzadder, Partner and member of the Firm’s Technology Committee at Kelley Drye.

“NetDocuments will help us adapt to the ever-changing legal technology landscape as well as meet personnel and client needs for security and usability. The NetDocuments cloud platform will enable our firm to achieve levels of mobility and security simply not possible with the traditional document management system stack,” stated Judith Flournoy, firm CIO.

Mobility was a key driver in Kelley Drye’s decision to choose NetDocuments. Specifically, the firm valued NetDocuments’ built-in mobility, which does not require additional hardware, modules or user/device licensing.

“A document and email management solution is only powerful if users embrace it, and mobility is a key component of that,” said Ms. Flournoy. “Our users, both in the extensive working sessions and proof of concept, appreciated NetDocuments’ modern feel and ease of use. It’s not often that a single technology solution can provide both improved usability and improved security and compliance. Only true cloud technologies can enable this kind of innovation.”

“Kelley Drye’s security-first and cloud-first approach to technology made NetDocuments a natural choice,” said Matt Duncan, CEO at NetDocuments. “We’re thrilled to consistently attract forward-thinking firms like Kelley Drye that see the value in leveraging mature native DMS cloud solutions. Kelley Drye will also be a great member and contributor to our global customer community, which ultimately helps shape our technology direction, enabling us to continue to deliver a world-class DMS service that exceeds the legal market’s demand for security, compliance, and improved usability.”
