Epiq Systems, Inc., a leading provider of managed technology for the global legal profession, today announced that Andrew Shimek has been promoted to Managing Director. In this role, he has expanded leadership responsibility within the company’s bankruptcy and settlement administration businesses. Lorenzo Mendizabal, also Managing Director, will continue to oversee Epiq’s Chapter 11 and corporate restructuring business units.
“Andrew is a talented leader and important member of our management team,” said Christopher E. Olofson, President and Chief Operating Officer. “We are well-positioned for many new opportunities in 2014, and Andrew will be instrumental in driving additional growth in the bankruptcy and settlement divisions.”
Mr. Shimek joined Epiq in 2008, originally as head of sales for the settlement administration, class action and mass tort business. He holds a JD Magna Cum Laude from the University of Minnesota and a BA Summa Cum Laude from the University of St. Thomas.
