Chris Sale, M.A., general manager of Lowe Hauptman & Ham, LLP in northern Virginia, will be presenting with Schroeder. The presentation will discuss the challenges and leading trends in going paperless, including implications for docketing processes, attorney use, client collaboration, the Cloud and electronic interfaces to the PTOs. It will:

  • Identify the current state of adoption for paperless IP management
  • Discuss the biggest challenges facing the move from a paper-based to a paperless process
  • Determine some of the leading systems that are currently being used by law firms and corporate IP groups
  • Examine the guiding principles in selecting and implementing a paperless process

“The ALA IP Conference is a seminal gathering of IP operations managers, and I’m excited for the opportunity to address this important crowd on how to seize the value in a digital-based IPM practice,” stated Schroeder. “Intellectual property practice management has become increasingly complex and sophisticated, and the reliance on traditional "paper-based" processes has become a defining issue. This is the right time to be discussing these challenges and I look forward to a great conversation about the leading trends and creating higher value work product.”
