Brian Aitchison Joins Aurora North to Lead IP Process Consulting Team
USA/Canada News

Aurora North logoAurora North, a leader in delivering IP solutions for law firms, today announced that Brian Aitchison has joined its Intellectual Property Practice as Director of Consulting. Brian, a seasoned veteran from top IP firms, including Sughrue Mion, and a visionary on the future of IP prosecution, will be leading clients to better leverage their people, technology, and processes to ultimately deliver higher quality work at a competitive (and profitable) price.

Aurora North has worked with visionary IP firms over the past fifteen years to realize the future of IP prosecution, introducing USPTO data download automation, smart workflow routing to ensure the right people are involved at the right time, and rigorous client communication tools to ensure close collaboration.  Brian provided counsel from his leadership roles, ensuring that his firms would be even more successful with Aurora-developed tools and techniques.

“We are thrilled to have Brian join our management team,” said Chris Kave, Principal of Aurora North. “He has lived on the cutting edge of process improvement for IP boutiques and practices within General Practice firms for the past twenty years.  We’re looking forward to sharing his insights with our customers and driving our IP solution suite forward.”

Prior to joining Aurora, Brian was at Sughrue for ten years, most recently serving as Director of Intellectual Property Services.  Brian managed all administrative duties of the IP practice and empowered lawyers and staff to better serve firm clients through innovative practices and cutting-edge technology.

“I’ve worked with Chris and his team for the past nine years, and I’ve been consistently impressed by Aurora’s commitment to client-first IP process innovation,” said Brian Aitchison. “The challenge for successful IP firms and practices is to re-visit their current IP prosecution practices and create a superior client experience.  Competition is fierce, and firms have to find a way to set themselves apart, attracting and retaining the best clients, and, incidentally, the best IP legal talent.  To survive and thrive, firms need to re-think how they complete patent prosecution.”
