UK firm Maclay Murray and Spens chooses HighQ and Tikit for user-friendly client extranets
UK News

HighQ logoUK law firm Maclay Murray and Spens LLP (MMS) has selected HighQ Collaborate, through technology resellers Tikit, to provide its enhanced client extranet services. The firm sought an alternative client extranet platform that allows lawyers across the firm to easily publish content that clients can access readily.

Crawford Hawley-Groat, Director of IT at MMS, explains why the firm requires a new extranet platform: “We have been using extranets to share information with clients for many years now and we try to stay at the cutting edge in terms of the technological solutions we provide. On reviewing our current platform it became clear that there were opportunities to improve the quality and usability of the product we were offering. ”

“We needed a service that users could safely administer themselves to make information sharing easier across the firm,” Hawley-Groat explains. “Based on demand and expected increase of file sharing and collaboration across the firm, we knew we had to either evolve our own solution or involve an external vendor.”

Hawley-Groat began to research the options for extranet alternatives, as he explains: “I looked to other firms to see what platforms they used for their extranets and began to get a feel for what solutions were available in the market. I noticed that HighQ Collaborate is one of the most popular collaboration platforms for law firms, so I knew it was worth exploring.”

Hawley-Groat approached technology resellers Tikit, who had provided MMS’s document management system, about HighQ Collaborate. “Tikit showed us how HighQ Collaborate could integrate with our DMS. This was a key differentiator for us, allowing for easier secure publishing of content to extranets across the firm.”

HighQ Collaborate’s security and usability stood out to Hawley-Groat. “Given the client list that HighQ has, I was confident that HighQ’s security was to the highest standards. This combined with a great user experience, which is really important to us as it needs to be easy for our internal users to administer without a lot of help from IT, meant that Collaborate was the best option for MMS.”

MMS have now begun the integration process, and Hawley-Groat expects to begin rolling out Collaborate firm wide in the new year. “HighQ Collaborate will allow our lawyers to share content more easily with our clients. It will enable a greater level of collaboration amongst our lawyers and clients and will allow MMS to provide a richer client experience.”

Dries Ausems, Sales and Business Development Manager at HighQ, says: “We’re delighted MMS have chosen HighQ Collaborate for their client extranets. We plan to keep a close eye on how the firm uses the Collaborate to provide a great client experience and we’re keen to see other ways in which the platform helps the firm to collaborate better with its clients.”
