Attention San Francisco, the Aussies are coming!

Jodie BakerJoin ALTA in San Francisco for the First Australian Legal Tech Demo Day

Companies planning for their 2019 legal technology should think outside the box – and outside the Northern Hemisphere. There has been a boom in legal innovation in Australia in the past decade, culminating with the 2017 birth of the Australian Legal Technology Association (ALTA).

Australia has a thriving ecosystem of LegalTech companies, from start-ups to mature global technologies – some you may know, but not recognize as Australian, others may be the global LegalTech hits of tomorrow.

Australia frequently punches above its weight on the world stage. As the 53rd most populous country, we have the 13th largest economy. We have produced 16 Nobel Prize winners. We even invented wifi.  Now, from RFP automation to Legal Department Intelligence, from virtual deal rooms to AI-powered workflow, we are working to modernize and revolutionize the delivery of legal services – not just on our home continent, but worldwide.

Toward that end, on October 26, ALTA will bring a selection of its members together in San Francisco for our first-ever international “Demo Day.” The event, which runs from 11 a.m. for approximately 2 hours at DLA Piper’s offices, ALTA will provide attendees the chance to experience an array of Australian legal technology software in rapid succession.

Attendees will interact with some of Australia’s leading software providers as they provide brief demonstrations and answer audience questions.Participating companies include:

  • Xakia: Provides in-house Legal Departments with sophisticated matter management, data analytics and Legal Department Intelligence.
  • Lexico: Automates contract creation, allowing for a more efficient workflow.
  • Persuit: Operates as an outside counsel management platform to review and compare proposals from law firms.
  • Contract Probe: Offers automated legal document review that’s quick, secure and thorough.
  • thedocyard: Provides a cloud-based deal space built for managing the lifecycle of any corporate or commercial transaction.
  • Neota Logic: Operates AI-powered applications that intelligently automate expertise, workflow and documents.
