Global News

Janders Dean logoInternational legal industry advisors Janders Dean are delighted to confirm their involvement in the 2017 LawWithoutWalls (LWOW) programme as an official topic sponsor.

“It is an honour to be part of this phenomenal initiative, one that continues to be the leader in developing innovative solutions to social and corporate issues through their unique model of global collaboration” said Justin North, founder of Janders Dean.

“This year we were fortunate to have the LWOW teams present to our clients and our networks at both the London and the Sydney Legal Horizons events. Their energy and passion for both the LWOW community, and the wider drive for changing the ways the legal industry thinks about its role in society, is infectious. Michelle and Erika and the entire LWOW community are simply inspirational.” said North.

As part of their involvement, Janders Dean will be collaboratively developing a 2017 LWOW topic to be addressed by the participants.

“From a topic development perspective, our focus is to find an issue that the LWOW teams can address that seeks to uncover, expose and understand various cultural or socio-economic barriers that may hinder students from isolated indigenous cultures around the world easily accessing a legal education” said North,“We will also be seeking through this initiative to understand any barriers that exist – those that may hinder the transfer of legal skills back into these potentially isolated and often over-looked areas. Our hope is that the LWOW teams can find creative ways to address these” said North.

“One of the founding principles of Janders Dean has been to ensure that we support our communities and the social causes that we feel passionate about” said North, “We have been fortunate over the past decade to be able to support a variety of causes that are near to our team and to our clients, including Stop the Traffik, ShelterBox, The Kids Cancer Project, Communities Assist, Breast Cancer Care, ByteNight, and many more”.

“Our hope is that our involvement with LWOW in 2017 will contribute in some small way to both the development of the students involved, and also to the long term benefit of the communities where LWOW focus their efforts” said North.

The company joins additional topic sponsors including Microsoft, Eversheds, Lockheed Martin, BUPA, Barclays, LegalZoom, UnitedLex, Diversity Lab and InterLaw in the ongoing development of the 2017 LWOW initiative.
