New Version of LexisNexis Concordance Desktop Software Speeds Up eDiscovery Review
Global News

LexisNexis logoLexisNexis® Legal & Professional today announced the release of an enhanced version of its Concordance® Desktop discovery management software, with new data import capabilities that enable customers to save time by speeding up the eDiscovery review process.

The new release of Concordance Desktop was built around the creation of two new key features: the ability to import load files directly into Concordance Desktop without the need for processing the files; and direct integration with the LAW PreDiscovery™ eDiscovery software application.

“These new features give our customers the ability to feed data into the Concordance Desktop engine even faster than before, giving litigators and their staff members more immediate access to eDiscovery documents so they can begin the review workflow,” said Steve Ashbacher, vice president of litigation solutions with the LexisNexis software and technology business. “This translates into significant time savings, which means reduced eDiscovery expenses and quicker insights into the evidence in a case.”

The new built-in capability in Concordance Desktop to ingest load files without advanced processing means that Concordance Desktop users can more quickly import their data and speed up the time required to get those files into the eDiscovery database. In the past, load files would need to be processed and images within those files would need to be rendered before the files could be imported into Concordance Desktop.

The direct integration of Concordance Desktop with LAW PreDiscovery means that LAW users can now seamlessly create a Concordance Desktop database with just a few mouse clicks. LAW PreDiscovery software is an “eDiscovery engine” that can scan, import and produce all of the potential evidentiary documents needed during eDiscovery.

“More than 70,000 litigation support professionals have relied on the Concordance eDiscovery review software product for years – it’s a tried and true workhorse,” said Ashbacher. “The new Concordance Desktop solution, which we introduced to the legal market in February 2016, is designed for cases of less than 1 million records. This includes approximately 80% of all litigated disputes in the U.S., so it’s no surprise that the product has been well-received by law firm customers who want to manage the eDiscovery workflow faster and more accurately, right from their desktops.”

The Concordance Desktop import engine is lightning-fast and ingests electronic documents, load files and emails with a simple three-click process for moving records into the eDiscovery workflow. Once the files are imported, users follow a simple drag-and-drop process to organize folder structures based on tags, exhibit number, witness list or review category. Moreover, the product now features a turbocharged search engine, speeding up a law firm’s review process by approximately 10 times faster than the previous generation of technology.
