Nikec logoNikec Solutions has combined the best of its two technologies to allow users to scan using Copitrak and automatically save documents directly into a secure file sharing solution, Nikec Docstore. This fusion of technologies bridges the gap between scanning, document mobility and document sharing.

Copitrak Scan is a software solution widely used within law firms, to track and manage associated costs and boost recovery rates, and which seamlessly integrates with most existing DMS systems including iManage, eDocs and SharePoint, allowing scanning and filing of physical documents into the DMS.

Nikec Docstore is the new file sharing solutions designed to meet the needs for security and flexibility within law firms.  Available on Cloud or On Premise, it allows users to access files at the office or on the move, and to share them securely with external clients or prospects.

With most scanning workflows today, documents are still routed to a user's email account or local network repository folders. Time and effort is then spent to copy, rename, move the files from the inbox or the LAN folder to a more relevant location and to share it with other team members, colleagues or external contacts. Some firms have taken that extra step of scanning these documents automatically into the DMS using Copitrak Scan, however many still require in addition, the capability of scanning to share the documents.

With the Scan-to-Docstore feature, the user presses the scanner's activation button, and the documents are automatically routed to a folder within Nikec Docstore. They can then be accessed securely from any place, on a laptop or an iPad. This functionality removes manual steps between the scanning and the storing of the file and greatly saves time and reduces the risk of error, intrinsic to any manipulation.

There is more. When a new document is added to a Nikec Docstore shared folder, all authorised users receive a notification in real time. Depending on their rights, they can immediately access, download and update the document, comment and interact on it. It is a convenient and efficient way to communicate both internally and externally. Security features of Nikec Docstore provide information on who is accessing the documents and when. Furthermore, it allows wiping the downloaded content on an IPad remotely, which is particularly reassuring when dealing with sensitive content.
