Legal IT Professionals (LITP), the leading international source of independent legal IT news, information, and expert commentary, today announced the inaugural issue of Legal IT Today, a magazine created for the global legal IT community including law firm IT staff, lawyers, paralegals, KM professionals and legal IT vendors. The publication will be edited by experienced legal IT journalist and editor Joanna Goodman and available digitally and in subscription-based hard copy format.

The premier issue of the quarterly Legal IT Today magazine will be available to existing subscribers via free digital download as of Tuesday, March 5th and the full glossy hardcopy showcased during the Legal IT Business Show, Business Design Centre, Islington from 5 to 6 March.

According to Legal IT Today's editor and highly regarded legal publication editor Joanna Goodman, the bigger idea behind the publication is to share ideas, stimulate discussion and foster international connections. “Legal IT Today is a new place to get your ideas published and start a conversation. Above all, it is inclusive and created for everyone in the Legal IT global community. In terms of the team, it's fantastic to work with Rob, who created Legal IT Professionals from scratch, and our awesome designer, Trudie Koorstra,” concluded Ms. Goodman.

The inaugural March issue of Legal IT Today features 32 pages of global legal IT information and insights including:

  • Interview with Autonomy's general manager of enterprise content management. Editor Joanna Goodman and NeilAraujo talk about HP's added value, SharePoint, the swap-out offers by other DM vendors and more
  • 'Compare and contrast' features of US vs. UK legal IT by Janet Day, Berwin Leighton Paisner's Director of Technology & Infrastructure and Ben Weinberger, Director of IT and Facilities at Bond Pierce (soon to become Bond Dickinson)
  • Evolution and lifecycle of law firm knowledge management by O'Melveny & Myers' Jeff Rovner
  • Strategic review of legal technology, specifically client facing legal technology systems, by legal IT consultant Ron Friedmann.

“It's very satisfying to see an idea develop into a great magazine in just five months,” said Rob Ameerun, owner of Legal IT Professionals and publisher of Legal IT Today. Credits to Joanna for a editing and magazine management job very well done, our designer Trudie who managed to give the magazine a clean, fresh and international look and of course all contributors who managed to write thought-provoking content relevant to a broad audience. We have created a truly international resource designed to add value to a broad cross section of people working in the legal IT industry. Not only IT staff working for law firms and legal IT vendors, but also lawyers, paralegals and knowledge management professionals will benefit from Legal IT Today.”
