Global News

CPA Global logoIP technology leader CPA Global today announces the appointment of David Cramer as CEO, Software and Data. Following the successful integration of recently-acquired MDC and ipan/Delegate in 2019, CPA Global has reorganized its operating structure into two core divisions – Software and Tech Enabled Services – geared towards providing customers a seamless experience and delivering on its ambition to bring about Frictionless IP.

As CEO, Software and Data, David Cramer will be based in Austin, Texas and takes global responsibility for the management of CPA Global’s software product portfolio. Under his direction, CPA Global’s software and data teams will drive forward the portfolio plans for three key solution suites:

  • IP Management Software
  • Decision Support Suite
  • Productivity Suite

In addition, the team will continue to focus on enhancing integrations between solutions and products, providing customers with a clear roadmap towards better decision making and increased productivity through the digital transformation of IP.

Prior to joining CPA Global, David was President, Digital Service Operations at American enterprise software company BMC Software, where he successfully led the business through to its acquisition by KKR in 2019. He was previously Vice President of Product Management at IT automation business CA Technologies. David received his MBA from Southern Methodist University and a BS from Georgia State University.

Simon Webster, Chief Executive Officer at CPA Global, said:“David was in many ways the missing piece of the puzzle following our reorganization last year - I know that, under his leadership, our newly formed Software Division is in the best of hands. It is our mission to co-author the future of IP with our customers and deliver for them what we call Frictionless IP – an IP and innovation ecosystem which removes the barriers inherent in the idea-to-IP lifecycle. Our relentless focus on improvement and innovation within our portfolio of products and solutions is key to realizing that mission, helping our customers to derive ever more value from IP through the application of the best technology.”

David Cramer, CEO, Software and Data at CPA Global, added: “The potential within CPA Global’s portfolio of software products and solutions, along with our market-leading data lake of IP intelligence, is astounding. It’s my job to make sure that our customers around the world are getting the most from our offering and that our portfolio evolves and adapts in line with what our customers are telling us are their pain points when it comes to their IP strategy – be that patent filing and prosecution, international licensing or competitive positioning. Our software and data are empowering customers in the new world of IP and, as we move forward in 2020 and beyond, we’ll be working ever more closely with them to make our products faster, more sophisticated and better connected to the world’s IP and innovation ecosystem.”
