Former Aeroplan Executive Melissa Sonberg Joins Legaltech Company Athennian

Athennian logoAthennian, a global leader in cloud-based legal entity management software, is pleased to announce the appointment of Melissa Sonberg, ICD.D, to its Board of Directors.

Ms. Sonberg currently serves on the boards of Hydro One Ltd., Exchange Income Corporation, Canadian Professional Sales Association, Group Touchette, and Women in Capital Markets. Previous directorships include MD Financial Holdings, Inc., Rideau, Inc., Via Rail Canada, Equitas-International Centre for Human Rights, University of Ottawa's International Advisory Board and the McGill University Health Centre.

Ms. Sonberg was a founding executive of Aeroplan, following its carve-out from Air Canada, where she supported international expansion. During her tenure at Aeroplan and its parent company AIMIA Inc., Ms. Sonberg was Senior Vice President, Human Resources & Corporate Affairs and Senior Vice President, Global Brands, Communications and External Affairs from 2001 to 2013.

Ms. Sonberg is currently an Adjunct Professor and Executive-in-Residence at McGill University's Desautels Faculty of Management and focuses her time on board and independent advisory appointments with organizations operating in highly regulated environments.
