kCura Rebrands as Relativity
Global News

Rel logoFast-growing Chicago software firm changes its name to better align with more than 160,000 Relativity users across the globe

kCura announced today that it is now Relativity, taking on the name of their leading, comprehensive e-discovery platform that helps legal professionals at law firms, corporations, and government agencies organize data, discover the truth, and act on it.

kCura was founded in 2001 by Andrew Sieja as a software consulting firm. With the success of Relativity, its flagship e-discovery platform, kCura solidified itself as a leader in the e-discovery space. More than 13,000 organizations use Relativity globally, including the U.S. Department of Justice, more than 70 Fortune 100 companies, and 199 of the Am Law 200. These organizations have uploaded more than 200 billion documents into the platform across 300,000 separate matters.

With one brand, the company will clarify who they are and what they do for the more than 160,000 users who rely on the platform. These users are doing work in Relativity every day, and to them, Relativity is the product and the community behind it.

While Relativity commits to simplifying and accelerating the e-discovery process through their product, they’ll continue striving to provide a values-based workplace. The company will also continue expanding their community outreach program—now called Relativity Gives—to ensure under-resourced youth have access to the technology, equipment, and training they need to be successful in today’s work economy.

“People in the legal community around the world know us as Relativity, and that’s a testament to the great work our team, our partners, and our community, put into making the platform better every day,” said Andrew Sieja, founder and CEO of Relativity. “Combining the two brands into one just makes sense.”

Recent events for Relativity include the release of RelativityOne, their complete e-discovery SaaS solution. The company also announced plans to hire 200 new team members by 2018, expanding their total workforce to over 800 employees by the end of the year.

“We’ve gotten to where we are today because we focus on building one thing, Relativity, and making it the best we can,” said Sieja. “It’s the platform our team has worked hard to develop, the platform our partners continuously innovate upon, and the platform our users can count on to help them organize data, discover the truth, and act on it.”
