To Streamline Cloud-Based Preservation and Collection for Enterprise Legal Departments

Zapproved LLC, the market leader in cloud-based e-discovery software for corporate legal departments, and Code42, the leader in cloud-based endpoint data protection and recovery, today announced CloudPreserve for Code42 and Legal Hold Pro, an integration between their flagship products that strengthens and streamlines the data preservation workflow for corporate legal and IT departments.

Data preservation and collections for enterprise businesses have historically been a high-cost, manual process for both legal and IT departments. The integration combines Zapproved's market-leading Legal Hold Pro software, which allows in-house corporate legal teams to reduce costs and risk by automating legal holds and data preservation requests, with Code42's endpoint data protection software, which backs up employee data to a secure on-premises or cloud location. The partnership represents a paradigm shift for enterprise businesses at a time when more organizations are seeking to reduce their e-discovery expenses and streamline legal operations.

Since Code42 backs up the same data that needs to be preserved for litigation and e-discovery purposes, the integration of these products provides businesses the ability to apply "in-place" preservation holds on custodian computer data directly from Legal Hold Pro with a single click. Corporate legal teams are thus empowered to preserve and collect computer data in real-time, conducting forensically-sound computer collections, now without IT support.

This integration utilizes best-in-market security standards (SOC 2® Type 2 Certification) and has been customized specifically for enterprise use, creating a secure and easy-to-use tool able to seamlessly and safely handle all e-discovery preservations and collections.

The identified files on those computers can be collected every minute without any manual collection processes and without disrupting the custodian. Legal teams will also have faster access to files for litigation and compliance purposes, point-in-time historical vision of the documents, and protection from device tampering and ransomware related file loss. Unlimited cloud storage ensures that the protected data is continually maintained and accessible.
