TDI logoTransform Data International and the University of Amsterdam are proud to announce their collaboration on developing LegalTech solutions.

Both organisations complement each other excellently in this area. ArbeidsmarktResearch UvA (ARR UvA) is connected to the University of Amsterdam and has ample experience in methodologically mapping legal knowledge and decisions. Their objective is to translate this into user-friendly applications which are offered to an extensive and varied audience. A striking example is the online platform www.magontslag.nl, a tool that provides an elaborate analysis on the presence of a reasonable ground for discharge. ARR UvA is specialized in making expert systems (interactive decision trees) and actively includes UvA students in their LegalTech developmental activities.

Transform Data International is specialized in offering and implementing technology through which legal issues and processes are innovatively dealt with. The solutions that Transform Data offer are used by law firms, corporate legal departments, insurance companies and other legal service providers within Europe.

This collaboration aims to introduce students to LegalTech during their studies and internships with the objective of learning how to effectively achieve operational efficiencies for third parties.  The applied technology is provided by Neota Logic, which is a cloud-based platform able to automate legal expertise in several ways such as decision trees, prioritizing, predicting, contract/document generating, workflow, and more.

The Head of Research and Development at ARR UvA, Rachel Rietveld commented: “We are thrilled to introduce our students to the technology provided by Transform Data International, Neota Logic. Law students are confronted with an evolving job market and new approaches to working, to which they have to adapt. Their development of LegalTech applications provides them with the right knowledge and skills. For example, by working on creating expert systems they learn to recognize different valuable aspects of the possibilities and limitations of LegalTech, and will be able to use and challenge these applications in their further career.”
