LexisNexis logoMcCarthy Durie Lawyers today announced the roll-out of Lexis Affinity™ throughout their Queensland-based offices, and expects to save 1000 man hours in 2014 on scanning documents.

LexisNexis Affinity’s integration with Canon’s award-winning uniFLOW software will automate the electronic capture and storage of all scanned documents resulting in improved response time to clients, reduced chance of errors, improved email and storage bandwidth and reduced administration costs.

David Atherton-Cooper, Product Manager at LexisNexis, confirmed “the Multi Functional Device connector for Lexis Affinity offers a significant step for our clients, enabling them to streamline a previously time-consuming and labour-intensive process, by automating the whole journey from scanner to matter and putting relevant information at lawyers’ fingertips.”

Peter Law, Account Manager at solution specialist BBC Digital, worked closely to develop a seamless integration between Lexis Affinity and Canon’s latest 5200 Advance Multi-function Devices. “BBC Digital now has a cost-effective product specifically designed to assist LexisNexis Affinity users with business efficiencies”.

McCarthy Durie has identified the following benefits since implementation:

  • Estimated time saving in excess of 1000 man hours per annum
  • Improved response time to clients through better access to information from the desktop
  • Streamlined processes means there is less chance for error
  • Less pressure on the email exchange as documents are no longer scanned through this facility
  • Reduction of physical storage costs
  • Cost control using other features of uniFLOW has improved environmental impact with reduced recycling of unwanted documents previously thrown straight into recycle bins
