Levit & James logoLevit & James, Inc. announces that its Best Authority Table of Authorities software is #1 on the 2014 Best of Legal Times reader rankings list, which was released today.  Best Authority placed first in the “Tables of Authority Software to DC Law Firms” category.

“We are incredibly proud to have won the 2014 Best of Legal Times award in the Tables of Authority category,” said Ian Levit, Vice-President of Marketing and Sales for Levit & James. “Best Authority continues to dominate the legal market across the nation, and this D.C.-based honor is particularly meaningful because we are headquartered nearby in Leesburg, Virginia.  We are grateful to the Legal Times readers who voted for us as well as to the National Law Journal for tabulating the rankings.”

Best Authority is on a roll, having reported in August that all ten largest U.S. law firms, as ranked in the National Law Journal’s 2014 NLJ 350 list, are using Best Authority to create their Tables of Authorities (TOAs). In all, more than 800 customers, including 83 of the 2014 NLJ 350 list’s 100 largest law firms, are using Best Authority.  Customers range from sole practitioners to the largest firms, as well as numerous government agencies and nonprofits.

Required for many pleadings, Tables of Authorities are often a high-pressure last-minute task to complete before a filing deadline.  Best Authority scans through a document in seconds, finds the citations to legal authorities, and generates a highly accurate TOA in minutes.  Best Authority is available in Light and Premium editions.

Operated annually by The National Law Journal, the Best of Legal Times reader rankings show which vendors and law schools are most highly esteemed by the Washington, D.C. legal community.  The nearly 1500 voters this year included Legal Times readers who are attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants and law students.  All votes were reviewed and qualified to ensure they were cast by legitimate end-users from the Washington, D.C. area legal community.  Any votes cast outside of this qualified universe of potential voters were not counted in the final results.
