While the Dallas Business Journal regularly highlights women business executives in its pages, every year they have a special program devoted solely to celebrating the top echelon of excellence in the field. Now in its seventh year, the DBJ’s Women in Business Awards program recognizes outstanding local women business leaders who not only are making a difference in their industries, but also in their communities. Gina Buser co-founded Traveling Coaches in 1995 and has served as the company’s chief executive officer since 1997.  The company is a 100% women-owned business and places great value and emphasis on women in business and in leadership roles. Buser has worked hard in her own career to master a balance between leading the business and spending time with her family and advises other women that to be successful in this area, it requires vigilance and intentionality.

Traveling Coaches’ Give.Go.Do. initiative is an organized giving back program whereby the company organizes quarterly opportunities for employees to serve the community during business hours and in their personal time. Over the past several years, these efforts have resulted in an annual combined average of well over 2,000 service hours donated per year by Traveling Coaches employees. The company also partners with World Vision providing funding for clean water in Kenya as well as micro-finance loans for women in Africa who wish to start or expand a business.  

Buser personally serves on the Springcreek Church  Board as well as in multiple local charities including Captain Hope’s Kids, North Texas Food Bank and SoupMobile.  Globally, she is active with World Vision and Global Advance, and her family sponsors children in Katito, Kenya. Through Global Advance, Buser speaks at Marketplace conferences in developing countries teaching business skills to small business owners and entrepreneurs.
