DocsCorp Partners with OpenText to Deliver Image Crawler for eDOCS DM

DocsCorp, a global leader in integrated document workflow solutions and technologies, announced today at the 16th annual OpenText Enterprise World conference in Florida that it had entered into an agreement with OpenText™, the global leader in Enterprise Information Management (EIM).

In partnership with DocsCorp, OpenText will offer DocsCorp’s contentCrawler technology to eDOCS DM clients under the name OpenText Image Crawler.

OpenText Image Crawler will enable eDOCS DM users to leverage their content management and search technology investments to drive business efficiency and to reduce costs managing image-based documents to ensure full content searching on every document in every content repository.

More than 20% of documents in a content repository are "invisible" to search technology. These documents often get profiled in content repositories as a result of ingestion of legacy or litigation documents, saving emails with attachments, mobile technology and employee workarounds, which bypass the OCR'ing process. Failure to produce documents on demand impacts the bottom line, workplace efficiency, regulatory compliance, productivity, and exposes a business to unnecessary risks

OpenText Image Crawler is an integrated analysis, processing and reporting framework designed to enable OpenText eDOCS DM administrators to search and query the database libraries for image-based documents. It can then convert these documents to text-based PDF documents, profiling the resulting documents back into OpenText eDOCS DM with minimal intervention. Once profiled, the OpenText eDOCS DM index server will index these image documents, which had previously been invisible to text searching.

OpenText Image Crawler integrates with OpenText eDOCS, MS SharePoint, and MS Windows file systems.
