New features include Team Calendar, Task Management, Docket Control and Client Import
Today, CosmoLex released version 2.0 of their cloud-based software. This update fleshes out the application into a comprehensive practice management solution.
The new features leverage the client and matter information already in use by CosmoLex's billing functions to give users added practice management capabilities, such as appointment setting, docket management and calendaring. This latest version turns CosmoLex into an end-to-end solution for small law practices, covering both front and back office activities.
Law firm activities, such as billing, scheduling and task management, must be organized by matter for both operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. However, small firms often cannot afford the expense and expertise required for intra-office networking and large-scale case management tools. CosmoLex users have already been enjoying the benefits of its cloud technology, such as anytime, anywhere access without a local IT requirement. The new practice management features in version 2.0 also allow them to coordinate billing, trust accounting, calendaring, task management, docket control and more – all through one application.
This new version also includes an import function that will streamline a practice's migration from another practice management product. CosmoLex is able to import client information from all major legal software quickly and easily.
"This is the biggest update we've released since CosmoLex was first launched," said the company’s CEO, Rick Kabra. "The new collaborative case management tools exponentially increase CosmoLex's value to small law firms."
The CosmoLex team has previously stated that they would release new features every month at no cost to members. What started as a cloud-based legal billing solution has evolved into a comprehensive practice management system for small law firms that provides end-to-end support for all front and back office activities. Although the software has been available for less than a year, it already has hundreds of users across the country.
