Enhanced Redaction, Language ID, and Speaker ID Improve Legal Process Workflows

Nexidia, a leading provider of audio discovery solutions for the legal and regulatory markets, today announced the release of AudioFinder 4.3 with enhanced processing features for Audio Discovery.

AudioFinder is a stand-alone application providing advanced audio processing capabilities that support a total audio discovery workflow. Used as a companion application with Nexidia Search -- the company’s highly scalable phonetic-based Audio Discovery software -- AudioFinder enables legal professionals to categorize and filter content during a pre-review phase, as well as to prepare content for production or distribution after a review.

Several of the new and enhanced features of AudioFinder 4.3 have particular application for legal Audio Discovery, including:

• Speaker Identification – Analysing individual speaker characteristics, Speaker ID identifies the recorded conversation of specific speakers. This feature is particularly helpful in finding a group of recordings involving one or more speakers in a large data set of audio files.
• Language Identification – This feature easily creates models to differentiate between spoken languages and uses those models to separate media by language. Language ID enables language-separated data sets to be assigned to language-specific reviewers.
• Enhanced Redaction – Redaction allows reviewers to edit out specific segments of an audio file for privilege or other legal reasons.  Now in AudioFinder 4.3, users have a choice of what sound, if any, to play for a redacted file segment. Options include silence, beep, brown noise, pink noise, and white noise.

Leading regulatory investigators in the U.S. and Europe have licensed Nexidia’s Audio Discovery tools to review the large volumes of data requested during their investigations. Financial services and energy companies are required to record, retain, and produce large volumes of audio content that are simply too cumbersome and expensive to review using either manual listening or transcription, increasing the demand for audio review tools.
