Lecturers from the HBO Law degree program and the Law & Justice research group (Hogeschool Leiden) have been working together at length on the implementation of legal tech and design in the education sector. The new partnership with Transform Data International has provided further expertise in the development and implementation of technology, enabling legal issues and processes to be handled in an innovative way.

In order to facilitate this innovation, the parties have called upon the technology of Neota Logic Inc. Neota Logic is the leading no-code platform for the intelligent automation of expertise, processes & documents. The platform provides professionals with a wide range of easy-to-use tools to rapidly build digital solutions that automate any aspect of their services, without writing a single line of code. These solutions empower legal, risk and compliance professionals to deliver access to their expertise at scale.

HBO Law is well-placed to provide vocational training, which includes operational applications for the professional field. The faculty’s goal is to optimally prepare students for the future, with legal tech being at the core of fulfilling this aim.

Ilona van Opdorp, coordinator of the Legal Tech and Design Lab and lecturer at Hogeschool Leiden stated: “During the past five years, legal tech has acquired an important place in legal higher education. We have worked hard, in a large team, to create this program, and collaboration has always been central to the way in which we operate. We are grateful to Transform Data International and Neota Logic for instilling confidence in our team and our students to deliver this project. The first group of students will start working with Neota Logic in November and we are looking forward to seeing the outcome of this exciting new project. ”

René Beulen, Business (IT) Consultant at Transform Data International added: “We look forward to working together with Ilona van Opdorp, Gerdo Kuiper, Stacey van Voorbergen and Tessa Lust. At Transform Data International, our added value lies in our deep knowledge of technology and the translation of functionalities into our software. Hogeschool Leiden has the legal knowledge and methodology to automate legislation and regulations. By combining knowledge and skills on both sides, we have been able to deliver, in collaboration with third parties, the innovation that has been needed within the legal sector for a long time. ”
