Law Firm Technical Team Leader (UK, Manchester)

Description: Our client is a nationwide Law Firm with offices in 9 regions throughout the UK. The firm is now looking to recruit a Technical Team Leader and this is a new role within the firm to assist in the efficient running of the firm's technical IT estate.

The primary responsibility of the Technical Team Leader is to ensure that the firm's Server Support Team is delivering uninterrupted, consistent and excellent service. This primarily involves the development, supervision and support of the team and acting as liaison with the Helpdesk Team Leader. Ensuring environments are run in the most efficient manner, capacity and resource allocations are planned and monitored.

The post holder will need to combine good technical skills with accuracy and the ability to cope under pressure, as well as confidently lead and supervise a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Reports direct to the Technical Infrastructure Manager
  • Acts as a focal point for the Helpdesk team leader to escalate technical issues
  • Observe and adhere to all IT Team Quality standards, change request procedures, and required working practices;
  • Ensures all Server Support Team tasks are monitored and completed to the firm's standards and timescales;
  • Acts as a technical resource for the Server Support Team
  • Works closely with other members of the IT Department to provide a total solution service;

Technical Skills Required:

  • 1.Experience in all common technical hardware infrastructures - servers, SAN technology, virtualisation, etc...
  • A working knowledge of Windows OS, IIS and Active Directory;
  • General experience in the daily server support environment;
  • Can demonstrate experience of managing and maintaining technical platforms ;
  • Able to document processes and procedures;
  • An understanding of operational delivery of service strategies, process and procedures; ITIL
