Solicitors Own Software boosts head count to support managed growth strategy

SOS logoSolicitors Own Software (SOS), one of the UK’s leading legal software companies, continues to grow and, as part of a managed growth strategy, has announced four more new recruits. New hires Chris Beck and Jennifer Smith strengthen frontline support and the outsourced legal cashiering services respectively and there have also been additions to the testing team and administration staff.

The double impact of the Legal Services Act and the recession have resulted in law firms seeking out innovative new services, best practice, and more efficient processes and procedures. Managing director David McNamara commenting on the growth at SOS said: “Independent software suppliers like SOS have faired well in helping law firms gear up for the changes and have gained significant market share during the last year. Our experience shows that SOS is very well positioned to develop close working, strategic-level relationships with our clients, in a way that the largest vendors are unable to achieve. It is crucially important to us to maintain our standards of excellent customer service and product quality by managing our growth prudently and by investing in high calibre people such as those whom we have recently welcomed.”

Jennifer Smith has joined the Virtual Practices team as a legal cashier to support clients of SOS’s cloud-hosted practice and case management system and outsourced legal cashiering service. With over 10 years’ experience in law firms, Jennifer is enjoying the variety that working with many different clients now offers. “Although Virtual Practices has been running for several years, I am still fascinated by the concept and find the work extremely interesting. Every client requires different levels of support and I see my role as helping clients to gain confidence in using the system as they become more familiar with the service.”

Chris Beck has been appointed frontline SOS Connect support analyst. Previously he worked in a web design role, following a university degree in multi-media computing and internet technology. “The team of people at SOS is hugely supportive and as well as being a first point of contact for general SOS Connect support I am also starting to assist clients who are using our scripting tools. Eventually I would like to see myself fulfilling a consultancy role, helping clients to develop their use of SOS Connect.”

The additions to the full time testing team who are responsible for putting every function within SOS Connect through its paces, as well as having an efficient administration team internally, are also essential elements of the SOS growth strategy.
