Business growth fuels SOS team expansion

SOS logoFollowing an increase in business due to the popularity of SOS Connect for integrated case and practice management among mid-tier firms, Solicitors Own Software is expanding its team of people. Experienced marketer Liza Malagoli joins as the new marketing executive while the line-up of workflow consultants is strengthened with the appointment of Abi Smith and Brian Christensen.

Liza MaIagoli comes to SOS after four years with Northgate Information Solutions, where she was employed as a senior marketing executive in the public services side of the business. This followed a successful career spanning the PR, communications and sponsorship marketing disciplines. Commenting on her new role, Liza said: “These are stimulating and changing times in the legal market and I am delighted to join such a strong player as SOS where I can bring to bear my experience and contribute to the company’s growth – and where I am excited about marketing again.”

Abi Smith and Brian Christensen have joined the growing number of scripting consultants at SOS who work with clients using the tools in SOS Connect which enable the software to be customised. Both bring valuable experience of working within law firms to develop and customise legal software to fit the needs of lawyers. Abi was previously with Spratt Endicott of Banbury, where latterly she was an IT systems developer on case management software. “I was looking for a new challenge and I’m sure SOS will not disappoint. My new role involves all the things I enjoy such as training and problem-solving to deliver the solutions that solicitors want.” Abi is part-qualified and an associate of the Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX).

Brian Christensen has ten years’ software development experience and joins SOS from London and Manchester-based Colemans-ctts, where he was a case management software developer. In his new role Brian will be assisting new SOS sites to customise and deploy SOS Connect, using the scripting and workflow tools. On starting with SOS, Brian said: ” Many things appealed to me about SOS, including the size of firm, the way that the software is developed and the opportunity to work with the latest technologies such as .NET.”

David McNamara, managing director of SOS Connect said: “I am delighted to welcome these high calibre recruits who will help SOS to continue to achieve our business goals. The new appointments are indicative of SOS’ continued growth and appeal to law firms, especially those looking to streamline operations ahead of the increased competition expected when Alternative Business Structures begin trading in 13 months time.”
