The Association of Litigation Support Professionals Elects Scarab Consulting’s Robin Thompson as Co-President



Scarab Consulting logoScarab Consulting, a premier provider of litigation support and electronic discovery services for law firms and corporations, announced today that Robin Thompson has been elected as co-president of The Association of Litigation Support Professionals (ALSP). She shares her co-presidency duties with Barbara L. Bennett, Litigation Support Manager at Dickinson Wright, PLLC.

A nationwide organization, The Association of Litigation Support Professionals is dedicated to establishing global professional standards for the litigation support profession through collaboration, education and certification. ALSP has more than 1,400 members, which include litigation support managers and analysts, attorneys, paralegals, technical support staff, consultants, software developers and judiciary. A recent survey by Litigation Support Today named ALSP as the leading organization for litigation support professionals.

“It’s truly an honor to serve as co-president of the ALSP,” said Thompson. “In its three-year history, ALSP is already one of the most respected organizations for litigation support professionals. It is currently tackling complex issues such as litigation support certification and the establishment of standards for the litigation support process. I look forward to helping to further the organization’s work.”

Thompson serves as sales and operations manager for Scarab Consulting and has been an active member of the legal community since 1974. At Scarab Consulting, she is responsible for recruiting, event planning and educational seminars for law firm and corporate clients. As a proponent of professional development, Thompson serves on the board of several organizations including ARMA International (a nonprofit association focused on education and training for records and information management professionals) and Women in eDiscovery. Her past experience includes project and case management focused on the discovery phase of large-scale and MDL litigation and work as a consultant for eDiscovery providers. She has won several ARMA awards including the Award of Achievement, the Spirit of Education and the 2007 Chapter Member of the Year.
