Digital Reef Accelerates Early Case Assessment with "Predictive Priority"

Digital Reef, leading Software as a Service (SaaS) Early Case Assessment (ECA) and eDiscovery provider, announced today that it has added attorney accelerated functionality called Predictive Priority™ to Digital Reef Advanced ECA 4.0.

The announcement came at LegalTech New York 2012, the legal industry’s premier exposition of technology and thought leadership.

“Data collections are growing at unprecedented rates but legal teams still have the same fundamental need: To find and understand the critical documents in the data as early as possible so that they can shape their legal strategy,” said Chris Risley, CEO of Digital Reef. “Technology alone can’t solve this problem. We need to give the case experts tools to explore the data set and identify the types of material which will be critical to their strategy. Then we can use our technology to deliver key documents to the legal strategy team immediately, organize other documents for later review by contract attorneys, and a third set of documents for lowest cost review methodologies. With Predictive Priority, an attorney’s expert insight combines with Digital Reef’s award winning Advanced ECA solution to speed up review and drive down costs.”

The pre-review methodology using Predictive Priority allows lead attorneys to receive and review only the most relevant data early in the review process, which means they are smarter, faster, with direct access to the most highly responsive data. Other categories of data can be directed to the appropriate review teams, with the bulk of the data either reviewed by the lowest cost outsourced services, or validated by data sampling techniques. Predictive Priority, therefore, provides both accelerated case strategy and cost savings by directing case data to the appropriate legal resources, and in many cases reducing the number of documents to be manually reviewed.

“Digital Reef’s Predictive Priority combines senior lawyer input with advanced technology and heavy processing power right at the front end of the eDiscovery process to accelerate the identification of the most responsive content, directing the bulk of case data to low cost resources and saving everyone time and money,” said Chris Dale of the eDisclosure Information Project.

Predictive Priority is easy to use, allowing a subject matter expert to quickly find a training set of documents. Digital Reef’s powerful engine then identifies documents most related to the selected documents. The case experts validate the results and easily adjust the training set to generate even better document sets. Once the experts are satisfied the technology evaluates the entire data set and prioritizes documents based on the early expert input.

“Digital Reef’s Predictive Priority is designed to better leverage the senior attorneys,” said Vivian Tero, Program Director for IDC’s Governance, Risk & Compliance Infrastructure service. “Predictive Priority helps clients prioritize their review process without the need for statistical, linguistic or search experts to reconfigure their existing workflows.”

Predictive Priority is part of Digital Reef Advanced ECA 4.0, available now. To schedule an on-site demonstration at LegalTech New York 2012 contact info@digitalreefinc.com or visit Booth #1404.
