Biscom Outperforms in 2011 with New AmLaw Clients and Double-Digit Revenue Growth

Biscom logoBiscom, provider of the AmLaw 200’s most secure document exchange technology, today announced that it exceeded its projected performance in 2011 with the attainment of several milestones that underscore the company’s leadership position for legal file transfer. This includes the acquisition of several AmLaw 200 clients, revenue growth, and new industry partnerships.

New Clients

Biscom’s Secure File Transfer for Legal software is deployed in three of the top-10 AmLaw firms and has a growing base of AmLaw 200 clients. In 2011 Biscom’s legal client base increased by 60% with new clients that include Jackson Lewis LLP, von Briesen & Roper s.c., Caplin & Drysdale, Germer Gertz LLP, Graves, Dougherty, Hearon & Moody, Porter Scott, Wiley Rein and Foley Hoag.

Revenue Growth
Due to its rapid adoption fueled by legal organizations’ need to secure their document exchange, Biscom gained an 85% revenue growth year-over-year. In addition to the acquisition of new clients, existing clients continued to expand their use of Biscom. Upgrades accounted for 34% of total revenue in 2011, with the average upgrade representing a 154% increase in sender licenses.

New Partnerships
The legal marketplace has taken note of Biscom’s ability to effectuate secure file transfer, as evidenced by the creation of key partnerships in 2011. Both mindSHIFT Technologies and Innovative Computing Systems have signed reseller agreements with Biscom in order to extend the company’s document exchange technology to their clients and prospects. These partnerships follow on the heels of partnerships announced in 2010 which included those with Adaptive Solutions, Keno Kozie, Traveling Coaches, TOSS, Litera and Loffler Companies.

In 2011, Biscom also partnered with the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) to provide programming to its members nationwide through educational road shows and presentations. During its 2011 ILTA road show, Biscom visited 11 cities, presenting to more than 100 law firms and focusing on simplifying file transfer. ILTA also invited Biscom’s Legal Program Director Charles Magliato to speak during its annual conference’s technology tract, which brings together thousands of IT professionals, administrators, lawyers and corporate counsel to discuss important technology trends, products and applications.

“When Biscom entered the legal marketplace in 2010, many legal organizations did not realize the inherent risks – such as data breaches or noncompliance with government regulations – of exchanging documents with common tools such as e-mail or FTP,” said Magliato. “Our rapid growth in client base and revenue is evidence of how Biscom is uniquely suited to solve these risks and ensure that all client communications and information exchanges are secure, auditable and easy to execute.”
